The emphasis is on quality design and construction standards

Residential developments in the southern Costa del Sol have been finding ready buyers lately, and one development that is proving no exception to the rule is Aureus, a complex of 141 studios and two-bedroom apartments being built to the south of the prestigious Sotogrande area, near the largely undiscovered Torrenueva beach and within easy reach of many first-class golf courses and a host of other amenities.

This area is becoming very popular, being the location of the successful Santa Margarita and Alcaidesa developments. The site of the Aureus development is itself impressive, affording magnificent views over the coast, with the Rock of Gibraltar and the mountains of Africa as a sweeping backdrop to the scene.

Both studios and two-bedroom apartments have double-glazed, lacquered aluminium windows and terrace doors and there is reverse-cycle air conditioning, ensuring that the Aureus residences will be comfortable to live in during both winter and summer.

Sales have been very brisk since launch, with many of the units already sold, although there is still a limited selection left. They have proved particularly popular with young professionals employed in the Gibraltar finance centre, but are also ideal for short-term lettings, due to the increasing popularity of this part of the coast for holiday purposes Gibraltar, Malaga and Jerez airports can all be reached quickly from Aureus. The Aureus management company will be providing a rental management service for property owners who have bought for investment purposes.
